Specialization: Neuropharmacology

Dr. Kartik Nakhate is an accomplished pharmacologist with over 16 years of teaching and research experience. His research is focused on neuropharmacology, particularly in understanding mechanisms underlying depression, Alzheimer’s disease, and other neurological conditions. He has received prestigious extramural grants totaling Rs. 85.7 lakhs, including funding from ICMR, SERB, and DST. So far, he has successfully guided 04 Ph.D. scholars and 22 M. Pharm. students. His academic portfolio includes 87 articles published in Scopus-indexed journals (Scopus h-index 27 and 2275 citations), reflecting a strong impact in his field. As a dynamic academician and researcher, Dr. Nakhate has been honored with several awards, including the Olson Prize, P. P. Suryakumari Prize, and B. Uvnas Prize for his research articles, and has delivered invited talks across institutions. He is a life member of several professional societies, including the Indian Academy of Neurosciences and the Indian Pharmacological Society.
